Accessibility statement

Institutional commitment.

UMIBA adopts the WCAG 2.2 level AA guidelines as the design and development standard for its site. Digital accessibility is not a decorative layer. It is a condition of equitable clinical care.

WCAG 2.2 AA statement

Status, measures and reporting channels.

First. Reference standard. The SITE is developed in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, of the W3C, organized around four principles: perceivable, operable, understandable and robust content. UMIBA adopts this standard voluntarily, taking Law No. 26.653 on Accessibility of Information on Web Pages as its frame of reference.

Second. Conformance status. As of the date of this statement, and until the external audit is completed, the SITE is partially conformant with level AA of WCAG 2.2. «Partially conformant» means that most of the content meets the standard, with specific exceptions in the process of remediation.

Third. Measures implemented. The SITE was built with accessibility criteria: verified color contrast, legible typography at institutional sizes, descriptive alternative text on informational images, keyboard navigation on interactive components, forms with semantic labels and a consistent heading hierarchy.

Fourth. Non-accessible content and known limitations. Certain elements may not yet meet level AA: the downloadable PDF documents (preparation instructions and insurance forms) do not yet comply with the WCAG 2.2 level AA criteria for accessible documents and are pending remediation. UMIBA is working to correct them in accordance with a remediation plan.

Fifth. Evaluation method. The accessibility of the SITE is evaluated through self-assessment with automated tools and manual review in accordance with the WCAG 2.2 level AA standard. The last self-assessment was carried out on July 6, 2026; an external audit is planned and this statement will be updated upon its completion.

Sixth. Reporting barriers and contact. If you find an accessibility barrier on the SITE, you may report it through the SITE's contact form. To help us resolve it, indicate the page, the nature of the difficulty and, if you wish, the format in which you prefer to receive the content. UMIBA responds within 20 business days. If you do not receive a satisfactory response, you may file your complaint with the National Disability Agency (ANDIS).

Seventh. Preparation of this statement. This statement was prepared on July 6, 2026 and is reviewed periodically as the remediation plan progresses.
