Robotic and laparoscopic radical cystectomy
Radical cystectomy is one of the most complex urological surgeries. Most cases are resolved robotically, with the corresponding urinary reconstruction. Patient selection, the work-up beforehand and postoperative care matter as much as the technique itself.

When this procedure is indicated.
Each indication is confirmed with clinical evaluation, imaging and, when applicable, biopsy. The final decision is made through joint evaluation by the team.
- Muscle-invasive bladder cancer
- Selected high-risk non-muscle-invasive cancer
- Cases evaluated jointly with medical oncology
The institutional technique of the procedure.
The cystectomy with its corresponding urinary reconstruction is performed mostly robotically. The enhanced-recovery program follows the international reference protocol (ERAS/Kehlet). The detail is discussed at the consultation.

Recovery, step by step.
The hospital stay and recovery depend on the type of reconstruction. Follow-up is close during the first months, together with medical oncology when appropriate.
How this procedure is covered.
Direct in-network care is with the Hospital Alemán Medical Plan (PMHA). With the other health insurers (obras sociales) and prepaid plans, care is on a reimbursement basis. For private care, fees are stated transparently at the consultation.
For patients from abroad, the estimate is prepared case by case and the international-program logistics are coordinated. Details on direct inquiry.
